ACHIVADOLIMNI, MILOS
The region of Achivadolimni, located next to the cove on the western side of the Milos Island, possesses a grey white sandy beach with blue waters that are ideal for windsurfing. The area was named after the lake that is situated nearby and has sea shells on the bottom (achivada means sea shell).
PLAKA, MILOS
The town of Plaka is located on the northwestern side of Milos and is the capital town of the island. Plaka is renowned for its view of the Aegean and the sunset. The town is full of quaint little shops where you can purchase knick knacks and lovely tavernas, bars and cafes that are perfect for a quiet dinner or drink.
Plaka also has several very interesting museums where you can view some of the findings from the archaeological sites and the traditional costumes of the island, while scattered throughout the town are several beautiful churches. |
